Do you take pictures very often? Do you make selfies? Do you like them or you hate them? Is the reason that you hate your photos that awful double chin? Don’t worry, the good news is that you are not the only person. There are many people who are “suffering” with a double chin. And surely, many of your friends position their face on a specific way just so that they look good in the pictures.

Here is some more good news. What if we told you that you could get rid of the double chin without surgery, and even without spending tons of money?

There are 2 different ways to get rid of that double chin. One is to exercise, and the other is to use certain massages and consume certain foods. Here are the exercises first. They are very simple and they will help you eliminate the issue while strengthening your neck, jaw, and chin muscles.

You can perform these exercises every day, any time you find convenient. Make sure to relax the chin and the mouth muscles before and after each exercise. You could do that by opening and closing the mouth gently, which is going to loosen the jaw.

The ladle

The simplest of the chin workouts is the ladle. Open the mouth as wide as you can, and then bend the lower lip inward. As you pull the jaw forward, you need to close your mouth. Now, you need to make sure that every step along the way is very slow. This will ensure that you engage the chin muscles.

Stick it out

Face forward, open your mouth wide, stick the tongue out slowly, and count to five. Once you have reached as far as you can, bring the tongue back into your mouth and count to 5 while you are doing it. Repeat this exercise 10 times.

The kiss

It sounds like a real kiss, and it actually is. Therefore, you will be improving your lovemaking skills while you are getting rid of the terrible double chin. In order to perform this exercise, you need to tilt your head upward, extend the lips and make a kissing motion. This is a very simple and effective exercise that works the neck muscles.

Touch the nose

In reality, you are not going to touch your nose. However you are going to give it your best effort. The exercise starts by sticking the tongue out. Try to reach t nose with the tongue. If you want to make it more effective, you need to place a finger under the chin, allowing you to feel the muscles.

Jaw jut

This is one more very simple exercise: all you have to do is to look. However, first you need to tilt your head back and look up in the ceiling. In order to stretch your under-the-chin area, you should push your lower jaw forward. Count to 10 while you are holding the jaw in that position. Now you should relax and return to a neutral position. Repeat this exercise 10 times.

Resistance is the process of pushing and pulling in opposite directions, and that puts pressure and resistance on the objects. For this exercise, you will need to place both fists under the chin. Push down with the chin while your fists provide the needed resistance. Hold for about 5 seconds and then release. You can repeat as many times as you like.

Chin slap

You should start the exercise by facing forward. Carefully you need to slap your lower jaw using the back of your hand. You have to be very careful—don’t be too hard or too soft on yourself! It may sound strange to slap yourself, but it really helps. Slap yourself for around 30 seconds.

The perfect oval

Many people want a perfectly shaped face. And that perfect shape is the oval-shaped face. But do you know how can you do that? It’s simple, by training your face to be oval. For this exercise, you will need to turn your head to one side. At the same time, you should push your jaw forward. At this point, you will feel the extension of your neck muscles and the jaw. Hold in this position for a couple of moments, and then turn the head in the opposite direction.

Neck roll

You should start in a standing position and drop the chin forward to your chest. Making a slow movement, you should rotate the head to the left. Hold the position while you count to five. Making another slow movement, you should bring your chin back to the chest. Now, rotate to the right, once again counting to five. Repeat this for 45 seconds.

Chin rotation

This is very similar to the neck roll, it just defers in instead of stopping when you move to the left, and you actually do a full circle. Note: if you are not able to do a full circle, then you should only do the neck roll exercise.

Tongue on teeth

It doesn’t matter if you stand or sit, you need to keep your back straight. Now, you should open your mouth wide. This is the exercise that is going to help improve your bite and also eliminate your double chin. Press the tip of the tongue against the inside of the bottom row of your teeth. Inhale with your mouth, and while exhaling, you should try to make that “ahhh” sound. Repeat the exercise for a minute, relax, and then do it for one more minute.

In and out

Place the hand on your jaw, and try to make a “V” shape. You can do that by placing the thumb on one side, and then on the other side the rest of your fingers. Your index finger and thumb need to be in the same place on the opposite sides, while your other fingers are further back on the jawline.

Hold your hand in place, and then try to press forward by using just the neck and the head. Hold in this position for around half a minute, relax, and then repeat twice more.

Lying lifts

You need to lie on your back on a bed, with the head hanging off the end of the bed. Lift your head up and toward to the chest. Keep the back and shoulders flat against your bed. Hold the position for about 10 seconds, and then slowly return to the starting position. You could repeat it twice more.

Let’s get something straight here, simply eating certain foods is not going to help. However, there are some that might, and some that you could use for a massage.

Cocoa butter

It improves the elasticity of your skin, the main ingredient in eliminating the double chin. Warm one tablespoon of cocoa butter, and massage your neck and chin with it. Massage for a few minutes two times a day. Always massage the neck and chin before taking a shower or a bath in the morning, and before going to bed at night.

Sugar-free gum

No, you do not need to chew the whole package of sugar-free gum. And no, you can’t massage the chin with a gum, as it’s going to stick to your neck. However, the thing that you can do is chew a piece of sugar-free gum, because it will engage all your facial muscles.

Wheat germ oil

One more ingredient that you can use for massaging the neck is wheat germ oil. The difference is that you do the massage just once per day—in the evening before you go to bed. Massage from the bottom of the neck, and then move upwards for about 15 minutes. Leave the oil on the skin in order to be absorbed into the skin during the night.

Egg whites

Prepare a face mask with 2 egg whites, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of milk. You can also add peppermint essential oil for optimal benefits. Apply the mask on the chin and neck area, and let it stay there for around half an hour. Wash the face and pat it dry with a clean towel. Repeat once every day until you see results.

Milk will help you tone the muscles and the skin that is around the chin area. In addition, the milk nourishes your skin and it also makes it very soft. Apply a bit of milk on your chin, and then massage the area for a couple of minutes. Afterwards, wash with lukewarm water and repeat 3 times per day.

Green tea

In case you didn’t know by now, the green tea is one of the healthiest beverages that you can consume. Rich in healthy nutrients and antioxidants, the green tea speeds up your metabolism and it keeps your skin healthy. However, the most important aspect is that it eliminates the free radicals. This slows down the aging process, it improves the skin’s elasticity, and it also takes care of the double chin. So, drink few cups of green tea every day.
